Another HF-1 on the "Black Market" - Page 5

Jeez! Give the guy a break, he didn't post himself the link to his auction and WTF if he sells for a little profit? You guys are living in a fairy-tale or what? Everybody make business thank to Head-fi! John Grado made money, Head-fi made money and that's fine everybody should be happy. The hype this HF-1 has generated could be teached on business and marketing schools. So please get a life and give the guy a break!

I hope I'm misunderstanding this. He can sell all he wants on eBay at a profit, but not here? One can't sell something here at a profit?

I understand the part about being prohibited from promoting one's own eBay auction. But it seems impossible (and undesireable from an economic standpoint) to regulate profit.

Anyway, if you actually read the auction description closely (which you very obviously did not), you would learn that I have two pairs in my household that were acquired legally as set forth by the original rules (only one per Head-Fi member). One for me, and one for my Wife, both of which are Head-Fi members.
You're much Nicer about this than I would be!

Bottom line is it's not anyone else’s business what you do with your property.

This, I'm holy, I'm more moral than you, Jealous display by others is a crock of SH#T!

If those that are complaining don't want to bid on some piece of equipment they need to keep their mouth shut!!! Someone out there will get a product that they really want and enjoy for an agreed upon price that they otherwise would not have a chance to get.

Good Luck with your auction!

What a sleazeball

Did anybody here bid on them? Who's kimsopko?

You really should add a picture of the HF-1 without the pads on, so that potential bidders will be able to actually see the mahogany driver housings. The pictures on your auction basically look like the SR-225 with a wooden button. Show them what really physically distinguishes the HF-1 from other plastic Grados.

I don't have a problem with selling your own personal property. I mean, come on, would you guys really want to live in a society in which you don't have rights over the things you own? As for me, however, you'll have to pry #377 off my cold, dead fingers... (unless perhaps the RS-1 comes my way )

I think what Ed was referring to is the recently policy clarification that prohibits DIY sales for a profit. I don't see any language in the Head-Fi rules prohibiting the sale of a commercial product at a porfit (not that this happens very often) but DIY'ers are restricted to selling their items for the "cost of parts" only unless they wish to become a Member of the Trade and purchase a mall-fi add.

Hope that clears it up for you.

hehehehe...are those not your HF-1's I just saw on e-bay? Don't blame you on your search for the HD650...quite a lovely set of headphones when they are properly amped.

Too funny

Dreaded double post!

Haha, funny how things turn out that way, huh? I honestly thought that nothing could beat my beloved HF-1 (not anything remotely within the price range anyways). I found myself listening to the HF-1 so much more often than the MS-2, that I ended up trading my MS-2 for the HD600. I thought that the HD600 was just going to be a nice little backup phone which I would wear when for relaxing, but I ended up extremely enamored with the Sennheiser sound. The HF-1 just sits on the headphone hanger nowadays. Now I find myself being pulled towards the dark side even more, with a great desire for the HD650. With all the expenses of the holidays, my options for getting the 650 are pretty much limited to either selling or trading the HF-1.

If anyone comes across #281 in an auction, please contact me and/or Todd - they are mine and were lost/stolen in transit.

Something tells me that if a pair of HF1's went on sale anywhere in the known universe, someone from Head-fi would find out. Head-fier's have an uncanny HF1 detector...ever see how fast those HF1's on the for sale/trade section, go? Anyway, I hope you are able to locate your lost HF1's...good luck!

another one

at 350, this actually seems like a good deal (considering 410 two weeks ago)

Assuming the seller actually got them to complete the sale of course.

That is the same pair for sale here in the for sale forums.

Make sure you audition the HD650 first. A lot prefer the HD600/580 over the 650 and vice versa
