Interesting indeed. I hope they sell for quite a bit.

Well the one in the UK might... cause I think I might just have to try to win it (if at all possible) I joined head-fi just after the last HF-1 had been sold and so didn't have any chance to jump on this amazing offer (which I'd have loved to as soon as I realised it was on)

Since then I've collected myself a nice cheap(ish) collection of headphones... but I still keep checking the FS forum to see if the HF-1 comes up. Maybe this could be my chance to get one (even though I was hoping to not spend any more money for a while)

The auction was removed so those of you who smelled a rat were right.

They are still running, both of them.

Are you joking or what

I hope they make a killing on those HF-1s.

I find it interesting that when I sold my pair (the first to be sold on Ebay to my knowledge), I received a huge amount of flack, and harrassment from some members of the Head-Fi community. In addition to that, a few people decided to create new ebay accounts (with 'creative' names like 'sennsevilside') with zero feedback in order to make rediculous bids on my HF-1s in an attempt to sabotage my auction.

Since then, I have seen many people sell their HF-1s (most are used, but a couple were brand-new sealed in box). And I don't recall seeing them get harrassed in any way (at least publicly on this message board like I was).

Very interesting indeed.

I wonder where those anti-HF1-ebay-sale crusaders are now...

P.S. I also find it interesting that one of the HF-1s currently for sale on Ebay has a paragraph in the item description that is *VERY* similar to my original HF-1 Ebay add. I guess people just aren't creative enough to write thier own descriptions any more

i think it's ridiculous that some were (or still are) so vehemently against the selling of hf-1s outside of head-fi...still, the reason you got the full brunt of the criticism is because you were the first...that's the price you pay for being the first, like it or not.

You have a point there, being a pioneer can suck sometimes I suppose

I wonder how many sets of HF-1's Mr. John Grado would have made for us if he knew they would just end up on ebay?
Maybe JG doesn't care - he made a profit (and gained a lot of favourible publicity), Todd made a profit and Head-Fi got their donation.

well he knew some would probably - he wouldn't like it, but it's better than distributors grabbing new cans and selling them on ebay as an auction business to undercut regional distributors, he really hates that - he even refuses to honor warranties of cans that are bought that way.

Oh wow, most of those auctions mention that it comes with a 1 year warranty.

Unless they are being offered by distributors I would imagine that a warranty claim would be honoured.

That one year warranty on ebay is going to have to come from the ebay seller just giving you another one of their cans, because Grado won't touch em-
