I'm pretty new to the world of headphones, and particularly noise-reducing cans.
That said, I'm a consultant, and typically only get to listen to my headphones on the plane. Obviously, this is not an ideal environment...
So, I ventured out a few weeks ago and discovered the Brookstone Soundshield 250s: http://www.brookstone.com/shop/produ...=Result*R2C1*T
Then, while wasting time before a flight, I discovered these, and promptly upgraded: http://www.brookstone.com/shop/produ...=Result*R1C1*T
But, for $300, while I appreciate the sound of the latter a lot more than the former, I am disappointed in the sheer size of the case and the cans contained inside. I don't mind the size on my head, however.
That said, I've read the Bose are a fantastic set. Are they better than what I've got now? I've never heard them, and don't know where I can compare. Also, are there any noise-reducing cans I might find easier to transport? Since I'm in for $300 already, I'd prefer to not spend more, but Brookstone seems happy to exchange (maybe refund, if necessary???)
As for music type, I'm a bass guitarist who listens to a wide variety of music ranging from rock (primarily) to blues (secondary) to classical or jazz. I appreciate the detail in each instrument's presence, but also appreciate the warmth of a well blended recording.
If they're good for working out, that's a big bonus!
Thanks for the help!
