Cardas Neutral & Golden Reference Interconnects - Page 3

Good to hear your enjoying them, for the price i'd have to audition them for a few days as I cannot justify spending that much on cables at the moment. Once everything else in my rig comes together then for sure i'll take a look at these, from the impressions you have on them they seem to be well worth the price. Congrats on the purchase.

I'm on the last day auditioning the Golden Reference's with the G08 Loaner from TTVJ.

I'm going to miss them.

Man, prices are around $500+ for used 1 Meter.

has anybody done a detailed comparison between the cardas golden reference and the cardas golden cross?

was thinking about picking one up used on audiogon and from what i read about the 2 cables the golden cross is richer sounding but lacks the clarity of the golden reference. its good to hear that the golden ref is no slouch in rich/fullness dept according to welly's review. i'm just trying to figure out which would be the best cable for my headphone setup.

Doesn't jefemeister have the Cardas golden cross cables? Ask him.

If you can afford the Cardas Golden Reference Interconnect, then you ought to get a pair, but I would also recommend the Cardas Golden Cross in your particular high fidelity system. Just make sure you visit the Cardas website to ensure you are purchasing authentic and genuine Cardas cables like I did.

Just adding me $.02. I currently use 1m Cardas Golden Reference XLR interconnects between my DAC1 and Dynamight. These were an upgrade from Zu Varial.

Honestly, I really didn't hear that big a difference between the two. I had already sold the Zu Varial earlier that day on Audiogon, so I couldn't avoid shipping it off the next morning, but I really began to wonder if the money spent on the Cardas was worth it. Nine months or so later I'm still happy with it, of course, but I didn't hear anything magic about it in the 30 minutes or so I spent going back and forth between it and the Zu Varial.

I should add that my previous upgrade, from Kimber Silver Streak to Zu Varial, gave my system a slight, but obvious, improvement.

Yes, the Varials are real good cables.
