Hi again. I need a headphones for street using. What models You recommend?
How about Sens HD 500?

Although these headphones are built like a tank they're HUGE.

Not only that, the bass is very boomy and the sound is muddy. Depends on how much you're getting these for..

So which one You recommend? I think, that i won't get use to using "in-ear" headphones. I like headphones like Senheiser PX 200. So do you know any good headphones like this ones?

I actually have a pair of HD500s... for all the flak they get, they're not too bad actually. Sure they lack a lot of the refinement of higher end stuff, but if you listen to the right kind of music, it works out pretty well. The bass is a tad boomy but not overly so. Pretty tight actually, just quite exaggerated. But then I would say the same for the HD590s... what do I know?
For the price it definitely is a fun phone. Extremely comfortable. Decent highs - if you just want something to listen to that sounds good and doesn't cost too much...

The real benefit of
PX200s is that it's closed. There's nothing really special
about the sound as there's many in its price range that
sound better IMHO (but they're open). Were you
specifically looking for closed phones? Cause the HD500s
certainly aren't

The point is that hearing damage is far from uncommon these days, partly due to listening at too high volumes to overcome environment noise. I would thus only recommend cans with at least decent isolation for portable use - PX200 (read up on fit issues), K26P, HD212 Pro, eH250, HD25-SP, HD280 and such.

I will buy HD 280 PRO's but it seems that they are not for "street using". One of the HD 280 PRo's users told me, that they are heavy, and when you walk with them for a long time, you got neck ache.
So they are not for street usage.
So i need two pairs of headphones: one for "home using" (HD 280 PRO) and another one for "street using". And i need Your help with choosing the street phones.

Eh... I had the HD500's, and now the trash can has them. IMO, they have no redeeming qualities whatsoever other than the passable comfort. The bass is bloated and boomy, with no extension, the mids are muddy, and the highs are pretty much absent. They sound about as good as iPod earbuds, with more bass.

The 280 Pros actually aren't a bad idea, but, you need to tell us a) the amount of money you're willing to spend and b) the type of music that you're going to listen to. Also it would be nice to know if c) isolation is important to you and d) do you plan on using an amp with your cans.

I would go with the generic cheap good street headphone recommendation - the Koss KSC-75. Nice pair of clipons, great sound quality. On the other extreme, if you want something truly esoteric, impractical, with simply astounding sound quality for a street-type phone, try the Stax SR-001 system. But, of course, the more you can tell us, the better the recommendations will be.

wow, that's some harsh comments about the HD500s... ipod buds comparison? I think that's pushing it.
I have the koss phones (many pairs actually), been using HD500s for like 3 years and they keep on getting better it seems (plus now that i've taken out the foam pads... it helps). The koss and the HD500s are just different - koss seems better at picking out detail and is just brighter in general (think crappier version of SR60) while the HD500s are just more laid back and easier to listen to if you're not set out to analyse the music. And I again have to say that the HD500s sound much better now than they did 3 years ago. The HD500s aren't worth 100, but maybe 50. So as much as I wouldn't buy it again, I think all these comments about them being garbage are a bit exaggerated. And comparison with the ipod buds... well I don't know whatto say about that. I think even $5 jensens are better than ipod buds.

Well, maybe I'm being a bit harsh. But my point is, there's no way these headphones are worth, sonically, more than $10, if $15 ksc-75's are significantly better - to my ear. I won't even mention the $20 HD201. The HD500 is basically intended for rap and, well, that's it. It's also a good approximation of a typical low-fi system, with a midbass-midrange heavy EQ and little else.

Anyway, that's just my .02, and no one has to agree with me.
