Boston/N.E. Fall Meet Impressions
Nov 11, 2005 at 5:30 AM Post #46 of 60
I had a great time at the meet guys, glad I could meet some other people who enjoy good headphones as much as myself. I must say I was blown away by one of the custom cans.

Salt Peanuts - you should have left for a while so I could have 'made off' with your PS3000's

It was indeed an honor to meet you my friend, I hope you will take more time to come & spend it with us. I would like to thanks you & your site for nominating the Emmeline XR-10B phono stage for "The Best Of 2005 Blue Note Award" I am truly humbled. The meet was great, I had a great time.

Ray, it is i who should be thanking YOU for offering such great products. During the upcoming Vegas show you can meet Wayne and Dick in person

ALWAYS glad to help and fully agree, try before buy (or insure a 30-day return policy). That's the cool thing about headphones, unlike home audio shows, is that with 'phones you CAN audition them at a show and not worry about room acoustics, etc like we all do a home loudspeaker-based system.

<edit out stuff> Steve, your reviews have been some of my favorite reads and your right on with music, I appreciate your work and am a long time fan of yours, keep it up and I think its great you covered this meet.

Many thanks and glad to have covered the show. Reviews/reviewing is not easy, believe me. Am blessed to also have a great group of writers who love music.

Car details can be seen on the upcoming NH race track i am vested into at http://www.clubmotorsports.com/Membe...Detail&NID=286 And yes, she is a blast to drive but, sorry, can't let you driver her. If you knew the cost of insurance just for me!

Wish the weather was better because i wanted to give some guys a ride in the car but cold, wet, and heavy fog make for bad driving conditions. perhaps next year the Boston event could be in the summer at NHIS race track. Speaking of which, if any of you guys want to ride along with me on an active track e-mail me in spring 2006 and will make the arrangements.

Wanna feel what it is like in the car on a race track? Sorry the audio bites, but at 120+ MPH microphones kinda get some wind noise

Though I'm sure he'll take offense to the word serious, there's no doubt his effort to move the world of High-End Audio onto the internet has been nothin' but a serious he-man lift of on-line content creation. There isn't a guy in audio who's got nearly the sustained energy output of Steve, or the cahones to go out and get any story worth telling. Thanks, Steve, for taking this hobby seriously enough to come out and play! It was great seeing you at a meet rather than some dumb-a** hotel hallway in Vegas. (Just a couple of months away...ugh.)

Tyll, you have me blushing! And yes, even the show promoter here in Belgium (yes, i am now in Belgium ready to cover a show tomorrow) commented about my energy so you are spot on the mark.

FYI EVERYONE: Tyll and i were both early www guys over a decade ago! As for me, now 80+ shows, later here i am in a hotel room with my wife in Brussels. WAIT! What am i doing on the Internet???

Now come to think about it, where are the two gorgeous girls that were supposed to come with the Ferrarri to wish me happy birthday?
Oh yeh, one more thing, where are my "expensive" Radio Shack flat pads?
Well, I have to search Haj's pockets, he had all these headphones with all kind of modes, but he had an eye for those special pads on my PS-1.

Well, I got to go, it is to NY I am heading.
Cheers.

Just a thought:

Next time around, it might be nice to have printed info sheets on the tables, listing member name, a listing of the gear that they have setup, relevant mods, misc. product photos, etc..

I do desktop publishing and would be glad to help with this. We have a list of what people are bringing in advance.

It mght be helpful to the non-seasoned attendees, and those non-head-fiers that are bound to attend as the word spreads.

Well, I live about 35 minutes from the NHIS/Loudon track, so if your offer to Head-fiers regarding taking a ride next year stays firm, it could be fun seeing your new avatar from the inside!

Sure, it will still be good and just tag me via e-mail or PM here in the spring (april or so). You WILL need an approved Snell-2000 or so rated helmet and wear long pants and long sleeve shirt, but i ALWAYS recommend full Nomex outfit and as much safety gear as you can bring. My lawyers have assured me, anyone riding along will need to sign a waiver. Sorry and all, but it IS a race track. Just wait until you read what the track has your sign just to get on the premises!

Racing is a serious sport... and also need to Cover My A.. legally just in case.

Racing is also an amazing thrill, i love EVERY minute of it

No offense taken. Exotic Italian sports cars are like magnificent women. i can see the mutual attraction as they both 'speak' the same 'language.' i'd say more, but if you have 'owned' either/both you would understand the incredibly satisfying joys... and perplexing maintenance that defies all known logic.

that sounds just like my dad when he was schooling us boys before they went to college - "remember, if you have to choose a fast car or fast women, choose the car. Less Maintenance! har har!" Thanks Dad.
