Well, really, an Orpheus is just the first step to a complete system. Without the Qualia 010, Stax Omega II/SRM-007t, Grado PS1, Grado HP2, AKG K1000, and UE-10 Pro, you're still just a noob. And you'll need a balanced-output SACD/DVD-A player hooked up to a Headroom Max Balanced amp with the $1300 Alps RK50 volume knob, of course.

You forgot the interconnects and power cables that cost thousands of dollars. And using a SACD/DVD-A player? What kind of hi-fi is that? Everyone knows the only way to go is to have a dedicated transport and a dedicated DAC.

Then when you've accomplished all this, you'll realize that in reality, headphones just suck. They can't properly reproduce music no matter how much you pamper them. Speakers are the only way to go.

...and then you can pay Larry $100,000 to rig up a support mechanism for clamping your new $100,000 full range speakers to your head.

What a fun time you have ahead of you. :P
