RCA to Mini Jack connection

Thread Starter
I want to connect the line preout (RCA) of my DAC/preamp with a portable headphone amp like the new Hornet (1 mini jack input) to use my headphones with my DAC/Transport system.
Which cable do I need? I have seen one called Cardas iPod Cable. Is this the right one? 2 RCA to mini jack is all I need?

Yup, any rca to mini male to male cable will work. There are infinite varieties. I particularly like the cable I got from Grand Enigma 1 for that work...canare F1 at one end, neutrik profis at the other.

I believe Audience and Crystal Cable makes one just to name a few.

I'm looking for the same type of cable. Any good recommendations for these in the sub $30 range? Anything recommended over Monster or IXOS? (I mention IXOS because Headsave sold them.) Thanks.

Zu Cable sells them on ebay, for less than their usual MSRP (I think)

For example: Zu Pivot (RCA-Mini):

or check the Mall-fi ads for various cable makers.

I got a fantastic one, a Silver Dragon rca to mini from Moon Audio. Expensive but the sound and fit/finish is fantastic.

not to (intentionally) jack the thread, but whats a "decent" cheap rca to mini, something around $20. All that matters to me is that it doesn't suck.

(i'm using a really old koss cable atm)
