Tube amp for K1000 <$500

I've looked at nOrh se9 espacially but there's hundreds of amplifiers and i can't decide, and i don't know wich one that sounds best. I've read that the se9 is very good and i'm almost ready to order, but if someone knows a better tube amp for the K1000 below $500 please let me know..

I liked the Audiovalve RKV MKII with the K1000, but you might need a slight stretch from $500 for a used model.

An MG Head can drive the K-1000, and actually sounds pretty good doing it. These can be very inexpensive used. You'll need an adapter for the K-1000 cable to a 1/4" phone plug. Personally, I'd take the nOrh.

Really? Good to know. Yet another reason to keep my MG. I'm not surprised, though, since I barely need to touch the volume knob to get it to a good level with the HD600.

I got mine used for < $200, so they're really not expensive.

I am using Cayin HA-1A to drive K1000.
It uses single ended topology and has plenty of power for K1000.

The Sophia Electric Baby can be had for ~500 USD used. Pretty good with the K-1000 and cuts down on the brightness that can come with SS amps. But, I like the resolution and soundstage of the Clari-T (modded T-amp) more than the smoothness of that the tubes brough so mine sits unused until I get some decent speakers.

Or you can find a different version (EL84 tubes) of the Sophia amp on E-bay:

No idea how it gets sold like that, but sounds pretty driving K1000 or speakers.
I would rank: Cayin>Sophia Clone>T-amp, based on my comparisons
Or you could try a hybrid amp Jolida JD301A ($350), which is basically as good as the Sophia Clone for K1000.
