Best Dj Headphone???

Thread Starter
Hey!

I am looking for a new headphone. I need the headphone for DJ use - esp. techno, so I need a good bass!!

The most important thing is that the headphone should have a good isolation!!! - I mean that you don't hear so much of the 110 dB of the club around you...

Of course, the headphone should also have a good sound qualitiy (sometimes I use them also to produce...).

I heard about the Sennheiser HD 280 pro - does anybody know a better one for my purposes? (maybe a cheaper one?)

I hope somebody can help me!

I feel that beyerdynamic DT250-80 is very suitable for you
pros:
+great bass(tight and deep)
+good for Dj use
+isolation(closed phone)

The Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro has the deepest and most slamming bass response of probably any headphone out there, it's subwoofer-like. The 770 is clearly better than the Beyer DT 250-80, and both Beyers have bass response that is superior to the Sennheiser HD 280 Pro. Two points in favour of the Sennheiser: the enclosures swivel, and it provides slightly better isolation. But since both Beyers have been designed as professional monitoring tools they isolate very well.

um... anything but the mdr dj v - 700

The HD280 Pro has what you need. Lots of isolation, EASY TO DRIVE WITH A CRAPPY DJ MIXER (that's important, and what the 770 DOESN'T have!), side swivel features, fold up features, durability, etc. etc.

OK, i know what you need: I monitor and listen to trance/techno. I use the sennheiser HD280PRO and used to use the sony V6, and have tried the beyer 250-80s.

If you can get the 280pro, it has much better isolation then the beyer 250-80, and swivels. it has most likely the best isolation of any good closed phone, possibly. OR, if you can power them and afford them, the beyer 770 pro. I am not sure about the isolation, and they dont swivel, and they are VERY hard to drive, so they need a powerful mixer/amp for them, but they have the best bass. the sennheiser 280 would be your best bet. the beyers dont have much isolation compared to the 280 pro, and they dont swivel. the v6 dont isolate very much, and dont have as good of sound/bass as the others. the v6 is outdated by the 280 pro, the v6 doesnt sound as good or isolate as well as the 280pro.

overall: Get the Sennheiser HD280 PRO> they have the most isolation, great sound, and are easy to drive.

but... if you can, the 770 pro might be an option.

Another recommendation for the beyer 250-80's.

Biggie.

Wouldn't the 770 Pro and the DT831 be too big and bulky for moving the headphones around your head? The 831, of course, wouldn't work at ALL, but isnt that about the same size as the 770 Pro??

That means that there is, like, NO WAY to do one eared monitoring, which you can jury rig with the V6, kinda do with the 250's, and definitely do with the 280's, right?

Hd 25 I II are great isolators and have deep impactful bass and overall great sound quality. They're durable and great for djs IMO.
