decent speakers for turntable and reciever ?

appreciate any suggestions,

I have a dual 1225 turntable in good shape, and a sansui 771 reciever.

I have 49.00 radio shack rca type bookshelf speakers and was thinking I should get some better ones w/o spending too much ?

Try some studio monitors, IIRC I paid for my Alesis Point7 less than 200.00, and for my Alesis Monitor ones around 200.00 both sound good for the money, 200 is not too much for speakers though....others to consider the ones I ahve now, Axioms, check their website but al ittle over 200.00

try the pawn shops. there were some amazing speakers in there for under 50 bucks in delaware- i'm sure philly is even better!
