Hey guys...this is my first post..so be easy on me lol
This seems like a reputable source of information as i was shown this site from my friend but anyway i need help finding a new speaker system for my pc. Currently i have an Asus A7n8x e-deluxe nforce 2 mobo...so i guess it has that on board dolby digital 5.1 soundstorm card
i dont know much or in fact anything about specs of speakers or soundcards and their technologies so i'm not sure what to get.
I've done a bit of research and asked around and so far i have narrowed it down to a few selections
Altec Lansing MX5021
Klipsch Promedia Ultra 5.1
Logitech Z-5500 -- i'll explain
and from that i have either to keep my onboard sound which is probably not recommended
creative audigy 2 value
creative audigy 2 zs
creative x-fi xtreme music
i am having trouble matching what card is good for what cuz i simply dont know what the technologies or specs are basically i dont want to buy a card that doesnt allow the speakers to run at its maximum potential or a card that is too expensive that i dont even need because a cheaper lower end one will suffice.
i heard that logitech is known for their boom boom boom and less clarity as klipsch is more for all round spectrum of sound a bit less bass but clear treble and midranges..
and i have nothing but good things about the 2.1 Mx5021's
if anyone would give me any insight or tips as to what to look for that would be good..
another thing is the set up of my room is kinda midsize to small i guess i have no idea how i would set up these speakers to sound good
i will post again with a pic of my room but i might have to rearrange things...so i dont know i would not mind having a 5.1 if i can position it in such a way to get nice output maybe corner balance subs or what not
ideally i would have to get speaker stands i guess for rear spks would i? or could they be off to the side i will post a pic later
