24" Metal Speaker Stands???

As the title says, I'm looking into a 24" speaker stands for my Axioms monitors, not willing to spend more than $100.00 on them, they have to be sturdy, heavy, and steel made. Please not concrete blocks recos, or anything DIY, I have no means of DIY one, and the speakers are on the living room, so please reco accordingly, something really nice looking...

As a reference I have a Sanus ones, oldies, 36" steel made, very sturdy and nice, plastic coated, spiked, that I grabbed in eBay for around $80.00 a few years ago but now they are a little tall for my setup, any suggestion, any trade or any headfier that have a pair and want to get rid of them are welcome to PM me...

Part Express has those below, but unfortunatelly they are $112.80 plus the shipping, and they weight 54lb, so they are out of my budget by a little bit, something like that is OK...

Sov,

Sorry, but nothing comes to mind at under a hundred bucks. Those Partsexpress stands you've advocated for the last year or so are probably the minimum I'd really use. I bought a pair for a friends modest two channel rig and to be honest, I was very dissapointed with their quality in comparrison with my heavy duty osiris'. They were much less massive, cheap looking and not that sturdily put together... *shrug* they hold my friends VR-1s (akwardly as they are smaller monitors).

Maybe check out used target or atlantis stands on audiogon?

Sorry I can't be more directly helpful.

Which did you get just for curiosity? They have two different qualities, the high mass and the medium mass... The high mass "seems" to be OK, but the problem is that they are too big for the axioms, the upper plate is huge, the medium mass seems to be really flimsy IMO, 1/8 steel yeak!!!!

Your Osiris are really nice, but the price!!!!!!

And BTW I do not advocate them, just suggested them as a cheap option, but they offer 45 days money back, all you have to do if you do not like them is return them.....

Any othr suggestion, even if a little over 100.00, it doesn't make sense to me to spend in an stand the same amount that I spend in the speakers, or close....

Sov,

they were the high mass stands. Don't get me wrong, for the price I suppose they're the best out there--I am just probably spoiled by those Osiris' I had (I think I loved those stands more then the speakers that sat on them, and after selling off my bookshelves in favor of floorstanders contemplated storing them in a closet until one day in the future when I needed them for ht).

The top plate definitely is huge, and made my buddies VR-1s look really akward on top of them.

Sorry, I didn't mean advocate in a negative manner (like you're pushing it on people or anything) I was just noting that I'd seen you suggest them (including to myself) on more then one occasion.

Good luck on your search!

Fred

P.S. I know it breaks budget, but I recall seeing a pair of my osiris go for 150 obo in like 8/10 condition a few months ago--maybe patience will pay off?
