Nordost Red Dawn Question

Does this cable relax after burn in?

I just picked up this cable a week ago and haven't had enough time to really burn it in. It is replacing a Straightwire Encore II so it should easily smoke it...the problem is that it is hyper detailed. I am not sure if I like the change but I do not want to bail on it unless things will not relax from the current presentation.

This is my first cable change since getting into HiFi so I will appreciate anyones experience with how a cable changes over time no matter what brand you have owned.

Thanks

my experience with Norost cables is that yes, it does chance with burn in, getting slightly more balanced.
But it remains sounding detailed and quick, and misses some "fullness".
You really need very goodsounding components for such a cable, otherwise it lets through all treble-inpurities in the chain, giving fatigue.

I double that. The Red Dawn IC is fast, clean, polished and detailed with quite an amount of integrity. The sound stage is good but not more, but positioning of instruments is very good IMHO.

A very good and revealing cable overall, but, too light-footed for my taste. I miss a more extended bass. Mine was burned in when I got it.

Thanks to both of you...

I agree that the bass is not as extended, however it is much tighter (somethhing I like) compared to my previous wire. The overall feeling I am getting right now is that it is too thin sounding for my taste.

It may be the exact cable needed for a tube system, but my solid state bassed kit looses musicality with it.

I will hang in their for another few weeks before a change.
