A little baby elephant. Weak and vulnerable to predation and needs to be cuddled and protected constantly.

Cheers. He was 2 weeks old when I first saw him - his eyes weren't even open.
So yeah, closure has been achieved.
Thank you.

I don't think it's actually called the Burning Bush--that's just what the art gallery guy told me it was about. The series of paintings is actually called the "Sacra Biblia." It's in 5 volumes and contains 105 individual works.

Here's a pretty good site with all the images: http://www.lockportstreetgallery.com/BibliaSacra.htm

That's just beautiful. One great resource of the web is to check out art you've never seen before. Next best thing to a museum! And yes, I'm counting art books at the library!

Ironic, PKD gained real recognition after Bladerunner came out.

My avatar is from an anime movie called Patlabor 3. The character is a police detective that happens to be an audiophile.

Mine is the New Orleans Conservation Jazz Hall pix I took during the session.

This is a great idea for a thread.

Mine is the icon you click on when you start up Solidworks, a 3D mechanical CAD software package. I'm the CAD manager at my company.

It's actually fun to use, if you're an engineer! Completely blows away others like Catia or Unigraphics, for ease of use. Less "powerful" (read: able to handle complex shapes like car bodies) than those, but a LOT less expensive.

I never really got Chuck Close... until I saw it at the MET.

same with Rothko... and then I was totally blown away by that stuff when the MOMA reopened.

It's a close-up of the Sennheiser logo on the HD 595 with a weird filter applied to it. I was putzing around with an image editor one day and made it.
