Mine's Calvin (improperly) holding a piece of vinyl. I adore Calvin and Hobbes and I'm starting my foray into vinyl, where I'm very much a beginner. I just think that it fits. Calvin looks a little uncertain, confused, and I think that's me right now.

Mine's Steve, of SuperVillain fame. I actually made it into a shirt, as well. A nice grayscale Tux on the front, and on the back, Steve, with the "Power we need..." quote.

Fits my personality, really. Geekish, quirky, machiavellian...

As for mine, it's DJ Q-Bert from the cover of Wave Twisters. I set it as my first avatar years back and it's sort of attached to me now, like I'm afraid to change it. People from other boards see it around the net and are all like, "are you the guy on XYZ forum?"

Also:

1. I like electronic music, he has a turntable watch on.
2. I'm down with the hip hop/b-boy sound.
3. I live in SF, he has an SF Giants hat on.
4. I'm goofy and Q-Bert kind of fits with that mentality.

Mine is the cover from Pink Floyd's Pulse concert in 1994. It's not that I especially like the album, it just looks really cool, especially blown up to 1024x768. There's all sorts of cool stuff going on in the eye. I made it into my background and stare at it when I get bored. It also encourages people not to use my PC.

I bought a Wacom graphics tablet a while back and thought I'd try my hand at drawing some "cartoon" type characters... I tried to do a rendition of Craig David from the cover of his debut album "Born to do it".

He's wearing big headphones on the cover of that album, so I thought it'd be a good avatar for this forum.

I don't like his music all that much, but I find the production spot on, so it sounds good on my ultra-clinical speakers.
