Silly question, regarding Xin SM3

Just got my Silver baby today. Very lovely

V3 btw....

Anyway, I know of the auto-off feature. A few times now I've had this on after a little while everything has gone quiet & then dies. I thought this feature would only activate after being inactive for so long?
