Chinese 6N2 tube equivalents?

I'm trying to find out if i can get any drop-in replacements for the 6N2 tube in my VAL amp, and was wondering if anyone (especially the chinese Head-Fi'ers) knew of equivalents to this one.

Cheers

Hi Covenant,

I have a VAL E10 also. You can swap the stock chinese 6N2 with a 6DJ8/ECC88 and 6922 types. I'm using an Amperex 6DJ8 tube on mine and sounds much better than the stock tube.
BTW do you hear extra buzzing noise coming from the right channel on your amp? Mine has this problem especially when I use my Grados.

Really? 6DJ8/ECC88 can be drop-in replacements for the 6N2 can they? Excellent - i may not have to mod it to use the 12ax7 after all.

And yes, i've noticed the hiss in the right channel before - it seems to be a power regulation/filtration issue. Use the VAL through a power line conditioner or surge board that features power filtration, and put a ferrite core on the power cord. Solves that problem neatly.
