AE-1 with Xinfeed

After switching to an AE-1 amp from a Total Airhead I was completely satisfied with the sound but found myself missing the crossfeed feature a little. After some research, I discovered that Xin made something called a Xinfeed adapter, which basically adds crossfeed via a small plug that goes into a headphone or amplifier jack, and then the headphone or interconnect plugs into that. I ordered 2 Xinfeeds- 1 that was for amplifier only, and 1 that was for headphones, which can also be used in the headphone out on an amplifier as well as a portable source by itself.
Anyway, both of them looked the same when I got them, but once I tried them out it was pretty simple to tell which was which. The reason I got both was I wasn't sure which would be better for my portable setup. The amp only Xinfeed works terrific. It perfectly adds some crossfeed without taking away from the sound quality in any way. I'm really impressed with how well it works with the AE-1. I've been very happy with this amp since I got it, but the Xinfeed makes it even better. It seems to make the music listening less fatiguing on the ears, with more of a in-the-head type effect. Having had an amp before that had crossfeed, and going without that for a few weeks, I can really see what a difference it makes. The AE-1 by itself is considered to be warm, detailed, and transparent. I found the Xinfeed seems to make it seem even more transparent.
The headphone Xinfeed works pretty good, too, but it seems to take away from the volume slightly. I don't think this would affect the sq from a portable source, but it has this same effect from the heaphone out on an amp, and it seemed to me if it has an effect on the level of gain, than it could affect the sq. Anyway, I'll keep both of them in case I go it ampless.
Overall, I think if you've got an amp without the crossfeed feature this little jack works flawlessly. The only drawback is that it tends to stick out a little.

RnB180 - if you happen to read this thread, this is *just* what I was talking about. Excellent product, but the sticking-out should be solved.
