It's the new addition to 'ES' series...

This probably means new A-series can't be far behind.

After L3000, Audio Technica seems to tone down the price a bit, must be bracing themselves for the next year's '45th Anniversary Edition' ?

Darn, I can't wait... December 2007!

Haha... Give in to the Power of the Woodies...

One observation though, the headphone plug is a deviation from the traditional W's wooden plug. Seems to be more L3000 like... But I like the new metal frame, looks sleek, and more aerodynamic

Still single sided cable entry, what?

The wood looks uglier than the 2002 if you ask me, but on the other hand I know that A-T's always look different from the pictures, and the 2002 looks far too dark in most pics.

the pictures show a two-sided entry, and they also mention it in the article.

Must... have....

Ugh... you know I'm damn tired of this place taking all my money. I should just stop coming here.

The wood on the amp's front looks exceptionally nice, a little like macassar ebony, although it may not actually be macassar. The shot of the phones doesn't show the wood as clearly as the shot of the amp's front does. Generally, very nice though, but I am not yet sure if they're as attractive as the 2002's.

Maybe the W5000 is just the successor of the W1000 and there will be a modified leathermodel of it called L7000.
