it's just a preliminary review and it seems to not be compatible with all motherboards yet.. but could be interesting. just thought i'd pass this along to anyone who's looking to buy one of those external usb things then this mounts right in and gives you firewire/usb2 ports AND headphone/mic jacks as well as s/pdif output.

of course, anybody who uses digital cameras a lot would probably find it very convenient as well.

Thats cool. I don't have an Abit board, though. I have been trying to find a flash media reader that fits in a case instead of outboard. Good idea, that gadget!

What is the interface to the motherboard (Abit or otherwise)?

It is not apparent from the text (to me, anyway).
