Some kind of pre-amp?

This may not be the right place to ask this, but Im sure someone here would know.

I need some kind of pre-amplifier to hook a Rega Planar 3 turntable into, then in turn hook the pre-amp into my computer soundcard to use for recording purposes.

I have no idea what's available in the way of smaller, dedicated pre-amps.
I need it just for this purpose, I don't want to go buy a big amplifier just to route the turntable through, something small like a little converter box would be nice.

Any suggestions?

Most newer phono pre's are a bit on the pricey side to use solely for recording purposes (IMO), but the trouble is that the cheap ones don't sound very good. You could go the route I did, and find a vintage preamp on eBay... can't recommend a specific model, as the Technics SU-C01 I picked up is pretty rare... if you happen to run into one, it does sound quite good, IMO.
