Just got it. Only listened for an hour so far. Here are my Initial findings using a slim-x cd player with Grado sr-60 headphones with canare cables. I hear more detail, more bass output, very quiet backround no distortion. To me thats what stands out with this amp, no distortion. I`m still trying to adjust to sound without distortion, seriously i hear or don`t hear any hiss in the backround. http://www.electric-avenues.com/audio8.html

Yes, the PA2 V2 is a nice little amp and a very good value. Considering the significant gain inherent in this amp, it is very free of noise and offers very impressive battery life. Its designed to a purpose of portability and it does that very well, while still producing very satisfying sound quality. Mine exhibited a slight bit of static when turning the volume knob, but that seems to have disappeared. After a few months of ownership, I still enjoy the PA2.

It is a wonderful amp, and when you factor in the price there is nothing to match it (IMO). I sold mine in an upgraditis moment, but I will be getting a another one for the office. Man I miss that PAV2.

Congrats on the PA2.

I've been using one for about a month with my Shure E4c and Sony MD player. I bought it mainly for use at the gym but I've found that the PA2 has plenty of power for my AKG k240S too....for that I'm using a Pioneer Elite DV-45A>PA2>K240S.

Here's a shot of my custom 18 guage clips that I made to use with my belt.

I made it. I've been in the sheet metal roofing business for 20 years, so I can make just about anything with metal(pat on shoulder)

Really, the holder was very easy to make and took about an hour. if you click on my sig, it is a link to my Webshots page...lots of pics of my stuff.

I do have one question about the PA2V2 itself. Do yours make a pop noise in your headphone when you power it on? Mine does... and is that damaging to your headphones...? THanks

ya mine does that too; to my knowledge it doesn't hurt it BUT be careful; make sure to shut it off or at least turn it off before you put in/remove your headphones. Supposedly you can blow your amp if you don't

As markot86 stated, it is safest to turn down the amp when connecting. I always plug in source and headphone before turning on the amp(with volume turned down) and turn off before unplugging.

At first I did hear that "pop" noise but soon realized the safest way to go about it. Others have noted a scratchy noise with the volume. I did when I first started using mine but I haven't noticed any after the first week or so of use.

At this point i would like to add; with this amp i do indeed get more definition from my cd`s on my slim-x. Haven`t tried my home system yet. I`m enjoying my portable system more fully, it is imho money well spent.

Would this be a good amp for my Alessandro MS-1 and Chaintech AV-710? Or are there better ones out there. The amp doesn't need to be portable.

Listening to Mahalia Jackson through this amp. Yep! confirmed, you do hear more detail from your collection. Can`t wait to listen to my LP collection through this little amp. Has anyone compared this amp to other amps? Whats your findings? Subtle or dramatic?
