if this is a "first" recable, i would say, get something else and do it first.

if you have not built a fiew interconects, and perhaps a couple "1/4-1/8" with resistors adapters i woul dhold out. it is a simple thing, but it has ample room to screw everything up.

anyways, a nice silver solder is good.
have sparis of everything you think you will need. even if you dont use it now, you will use it later.

be very carefull, and very methodical.

Ok, thanks for the info Nikon.
I put together a 1/8-> 1/4 inch and 2 mini to RCA cables, so I think I have the hang of things, since they came out great, but I will try it on a pair of HD 201's that I picked up first.

That sucks man :P But there's nothing you can do about it now, so don't let it get you down.

I didn't see any replacement diaphrams (elements as they call them) on the Sennheiser website, so you may have to send them in for repair http://www.sennheiserusa.com/newsite...e/open-new.asp

I'm sure it would be cheaper than buying another pair, although whatever the charge is it would be a nice chunk toward a HD650, which I consider a much better sounding headphone.

I need to have some time to do it, Junior year in High School is tough, I've been studying up for my SAT's.

since no one ever posted a how to, stay tuned for my complete recabling of my hd555.  im using 24 gauge for the entire thing and dual sided entry them.
