MS1 cosmetic overhaul (pics)

so, i was bored, and decided to stop my ms1's getting "they look like a cheap toy" remarks.
what ensued was an hour of sanding, painting, careful dremel work, scalding hot water and glueing.

now they look like theyre worth something!

(i cant take credit for the cable, it was made by highflying9 and fitted by oink1, prior to my ownership)

have some big pix!

Do they sound different after the mod? I would think the grill would make some difference in the sound. Good job

the grille is taken from 2 teastrainers, the wire is very thin, and there is no problem with airflow.

it sound allmost exactly the same, i can swear that i can hear that its a little less echoey (sp?) but its probably just my mind playing tricks.

Nicely done. Good alternative to a trip to the hardware store.

How do you attach the DT770 headband? Looks like it is glued on instead of snapped?

Nice Work,
Garrett

Thanks I am thinking about doing the same thing with my MS2 headband. Was it easy to clean up and wipe off the excess glue from the sides of the headband?...

Thanks,
Garrett

i put equally thin layers of glue on each surface to be bonded, and secured everything with insulating tape whilst it set, any spillage peels off the vinyl without a problem but i wouldnt want to peel anything stuck to the thin pleather of the beyer headband.

i like that they look heavier than they feel now, and that i have totally unique ms1's!
