Bellingham, WA meet, interest check - Page 2

may as well post in here!

Are there any really great local headphone stores that I don't know about?

Really great headphone stores? There aren't any afaik. Your best bet is probably Hawthorne Audio in Ravenna. You can listen to some Grados and Sennheisers. I was reminded again during my recent visit to the store why I returned the SR225 to TTVJ after trying them out. You'll also find HD25-1 there, and it was very nice. If I need a small portable headphone, the HD25-1 will be it.

The Magnolia AV store in Bellevue used to have HD650 and some other hi-end Sennheisers for demo, but other Head-Fi'ers have reported recently that the headphones are gone.

I've been trying to find the RS-1's at a local store so I can audition them.

So far I've only heard the GS-1000 in the Grado line and loved it but again hard to find locally.

Newer Head-fi'er here in Bellingham saying hello!

I got into this hobby a year ago and have owned Grado 325is (from the beautiful reference-media.net store in Fairhaven) and am currently listening to an AKG Q701 with Nuforce Icon HD amp / 320k mp3 and flacs on Windows 7 in WASAPI exclusive mode.  It sounds incredible, but it would be fun to hear some other brands and some higher end stuff and geek out with somebody some time.

I plan to make it a priority to attend the next Head-Fi meet in Seattle, as well.

I like the Bellingham idea and would be interested, but would probably have to skip this one as I'm likely busy the Thanksgiving weekend.  I'll subscribe and keep watching this thread just in case my plans fall through or something else changes.

EDIT: I'm in the greater Vancouver BC area myself

How about now?  Any head-fi people left in the 'Ham?  Should we start a Facebook page and from there eventually plan a meet?

Wow...talk about a semi grave-dig. I'd be interested in going though

Ha!  Digital necromancy can be appropriate at times... like with a long-forgotten thread subscription getting some attention.

I now have a potentially excellent space for a Bellingham "local" meet (the space is actually in Ferndale), which might attract Vancouver and surrounding-area folks as well.  Then again, it might be irrelevant with these metro areas being a fairly quick trip from B'ham.

Anyway... gauging interest and might start a new thread if nothing much happens here.

You might as well invite the Vancouver general area guys as well, they're the same distance to you as the Seattle then you can label it as a meet in the middle like we were thinking between Seattle/Portland. Although that never panned out

Do people usually do Facebook event pages for head-fi meets or just try and run them out of a meet thread here?  Seems like Facebook events would be far more dynamic.

I think @BIG POPPA does both Head-fi and a Seattle specific FB page. Of course he knows a lot of the local guys personally so there's probably the phone call aspect too.
