IPod nano silicone case review- pics

So you need a nice case to protect that beautiful nano you bought, but many are on backorder and there aren't many available yet. I did a little searching and came upon a gem of a case for a great price.

I found this case on the ebay store called the gadgetmart, as the case was only 8.99 and shipping 5.99 I figured what the hell, I need a case.

I wish I would have taken some pics of the way the case was packaged, very nice and professional. Service was very good with the gadgetmart and I had the case in my paws in 4 days from California.

Anyways this one of the nicest molded and best fitting slicone cases I have ever seen. The silicone is smooth and quite thick , but not to thick to hide the see through effects of the color. The cutouts and wheel cover are exactly where they should be. You can tell when you remove the little cardboard insert(which looks just like a nano, with santana playing on it) and stretch it over your nano , this is good high grade silicone.

The case comes with 2 different lanyards, and there are 2 holes in the bottom of the case to thread it through. There is even a thin layer of silicone underneath the holes so the back of your nano is compleatly protected- see pic.

The only negative thing I can think of is there was no screen saver included. However I never peeled off the plastic that was on the nano when I bought it, so I just pulled it off up to below the screen and cut it so my clickwheel is exposed and my screen still protected. Blue was the only color available when I ordered mine, but Sarah from the gadgetmart told me more colors are available.

All in all very nice case, and great service!!

Scot.

It's nice and thin. (the case as well)

Good scratch protection for the case, but since there have been complaints about the screen breaking. There really needs to be a good case with a hard acrylic screen.

Hopefully (if they're to be believed) the >99.9% reported by Apple to not be affected by the screen cracking vendor issue won't need additional protection for that.

Looks like good choice Ihatepopupads. Thanks for the review.

Well, I tend to believe (hope) that the broken lcds are a rare occurence. This is my 3rd nano, and the screens on all 3 have been fine, and I kept them in my pockets the whole time- wrapped in saran wrap to protect them from scratches lol.
Time will tell, I know I had 2 zen micros with broken headphone jacks- so knock on wood. Why 3 nanos you ask? The first one was a white 2 gig which is all best buy had. I liked it so much I got a 4 gig black, which I returned so I could get a white 4 gig .

Thanks for the great pictures Scot.

Btw all, I spoke to Sarah tonight and she was very nice. I couldn't find the other colors listed under "thegadgetmart" but she mentioned that they are still under her old store "http://stores.ebay.com/MommySince99-Shop". She hopes to migrate things over in the future.

Yea but you'll still need the protection since everyone seems to suffer from the rediculous inability of the Nano to resist scratches.

Oh ya , thanks gshan, I forgot to list that. Everyone might not be as secure in their manhood as I am to order "pastel" clear blue, lol (If I knew she had other colors I would have gotten something tougher looking). I believe she has solid black, clear black, yellow, pink, blue, purple, green and clear white.

After using the case all day yesterday in my pockets, I can report that this silicone isn't a dust magnet like the older iskins. The surface is very smooth and not one bit tacky.

I feel so much better that this thing is in a case! I mean the plastic, lucite, polycarb whatever is soft as hell. I already have a little ding on the select button, which I have no idea how it got there

Nice find! Just ordered a clear white! Very shocked to see how fast this skin came out.

Cool, I just ordered a clear one.

The only thing that has me concerned is that it looks like the case covers the click wheel. Is that the case? If it is, does the wheel still work as well as previsouly and also feel as good? I would hate to lose that smooth, teflon kind of feel the wheel has, but I guess having it protected is more important. It's not a big deal, but I am curious.

Yes it covers the wheel... but it is really , really thin over that part, and to me the wheel actually works better with the covering over it (mine was almost too sensitive). And since the select button is soft soft plastic , I'm kind of glad the wheel is covered I might order another clear one myself, the pastel blue looks kinda girly - would probably look good over the black though.

After reading this thread I went scrouging around on ebay and found this:
http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1

Looks like the same one (from the other pictures the seller has, it even has the same two holes on the back of the case), but slightly cheaper (cheaper shipping as well, especially since I live in Canada). I ordered it yesterday, and I'll post some pix once it gets here.

Thanks for the tip (for us Canadians). For $12USD, worth trying out

I placed an order for one too.

The iPod Nano silicone case arrived in the mail today. I apologize in advance for my laziness in not using a tripod resulting in blurry pix, but it does appear to be the same protective case as Ihatepopupads'.

The case arrived in this envelope, marked as a gift at low value to avoid customs fees:

The case was in a plastic bag and had what looks like the same cardboard cutout of the Nano as the pictures in the first post.

The large plastic case in the first post was probably removed to save on shipping, but the accessories (lanyards) are still there.

Front of the case with my black Nano inside. It fits the Nano like a glove (note cookie crumbs from table). The line in the middle is where I hastily cut the screen protector, not from the case itself.

The back of the case. It has two holes for the lanyard and the same two lines for what I presume is for belt attachment.
