I sent another email and asked him. Its still debatable whether or not I am going to get it shipped or just have my dad pick it up. The SVUSC01 with USB looks so nice thoughas does the SVDAC04. But still 130?? thats a great deal if the thing sounds any good. My option before was the Lite DAC-AH and thats 175 shipped to the US. And thats only a DAC

Just got my 1.3. I stupidly had it insured and Lawrence wrote in big letters across the package that the value was $300. I had to pay $38 to customs to get it from the post office. So, I won't be selling the unit as I planned - unless someone wants to pay more than the $243 plus customs fee.

Oh well, I guess I have the unit for myself then.

Unbelievable prices! But I agree: What do these sound like? How much is shipping? Can the units be wired for 110V for AC? The shipping distance scares me too. Then if you get a bad unit, then what? Spend $100 to ship it back. Yikes!

Regarding the USB Tube DAC/Headphone amp, that looks so cool. But I hate that it doesn't have volume control. You have to use your computer's volume control and computer volume control degrades the signal badly.

Yeah I agree with that. Maybe the USB only is a better way to go? or maybe just the dac? I also mentioned in my email about getting a 110v version. Hopefully I'll find out on Monday

He already emailed me back. No 110v versions, we will have to use a voltage stepdown box. Shipping to the US is $60

I will admit that the dac 1.3 dac is fineky.After tring out many different configurations i found the one i like most.I sat last night and listened for hours.The detail and black background was extraordinary.I will probuly order the upgraded version soon. Thinking of taking the dac to a friends house next weekend and see what it sounds like on a higher end system.He has the talon hawks.

I think the dac maybe system dependent,but without other systems to test it in--who knows.

I just know ---no matter if this dac was $200 or $2000 it sounds great!If the new op-amp and new upgraded version improves on that then it will just be more of an already good thing.

Keep in mind now--this is on a 2 channel system--not headphones

I'm quite torn on which Dac to order at the moment , most of them seem to be the bargain and very good product for price - still I'd need some info from people testing them .

SVDAC04 and the 1.3 are on top of my list at the moment

in fact I'm tempted to get a number of these chinese revelations , do a review and resell all of them bar one I'd keep the best

I think what really needs to happen is that somebody here needs to get the guy to put english on the case, import about 100 of them, package it together with a PC SoundCard (like Chaintech, or whatever you guys say is the best), an amp, and a good set of 2.1 speakers and maybe even a set of 5.1 speakers and sell this as a package to the ZILLIONS of consumers out there who would like to say they have a "Hi-Fi" setup but haven't a clue as to where to start.
