Would anyone also know whether they have the EMP for North American 110v. If so, can this power supply be purchased separately and where. Thanks!


P.S. Edison, I very much prefer your amps with the simpler imprinted BROCKSPIEL to the ones with the metal plates. That AE with the piano finish is beautiful, esp. with the full letterings of the NOS tubes.

yea mine is 110v.. the part about the power supply i don't know.

Congratulations on the EarMax Anniversary edisonwu! I received the US Version of this amp 2 days ago and mine is Serial #12. The serial # is located on a sticker on the bottom of the amp. According to Hart at Audio Advancements there will be a total of 100 EarMax Anniversarys sold worldwide. As far as I know Audio Advancements is the only US Distributor so Hart may very well have only 33 of these to sell also.

The differences on the US version can be seen in the Great photo's you're providing. There is a Gold Triangle Metal Plate that says Earmax Anniversary (I would bet is says Brocksieper under this if I pried it up which I will not!), and the RCA Jacks are supposedly upgraded (at least different), notice the 2 stripes on each RCA. The voltage is also for the US.

I have an L3000 on order and although I have phones to help break-in the
Earmax AE, I do not have great ones to do so. The only phones that would have been great to try with this I sold a few days ago (you know who you are!).

For those who use the EarMax AE with the L3000 the best tube set are: 12at7 Electro Harmonix gold pins selectioned and 6922 Electro Harmonix gold pins selected.

Between the NOS tubes, the Telefunkens are the betters.

All IMHO !!!

My unit has on the bottom the sticker with hand wrote serial number:
CE 13/33 AC

I think Aesthetically, the EarMaxPro and EA are the best looking tube amps I have ever seen. At work, when I have it out on my desk, I get so many questions and comments. It is some small(men). Cute(women).. So cooling(men).. Does it actually work?(women).. Can I hear it (men) Where did yo get it.. ect.. ect.. ect..

I have to say the cool factor is a good selling point.

All,

Because enough is never enough I sit here wondering how the EA would compare against amps such as the Singlepower Supra/Maestro/SDS (and their balanced variants) or the RSA Raptor/Stealth. Does anybody have any experience about the pros and cons of these units?

Those two NOS ouput tubes in my EMP AE are SIEMENS, and the rest input one is PHILIPS. The seller says they are so rare....
I may try something better such as Telefunkens later on.

I guess the power supply is as important as the amp body since you are not allow to use the one comes with EMP. There is also no separately purchasing.

Oh, I see. I guess the American Distributor makes the differences. Audio Advancements is just the one provided me the pics. I just email my seller about the golden metal plate. Hopefully he will give me the answer from Mr. Brocksieper.
My serial number on the bottom of the sticker with hand wrote is AN 13/33 BS, quite similar to Nik's.
