P-90 is probably one of the most accurate submachine guns in the world.

Not only that, but unlike traditional 9mm, its 5.7 mm bullets are designed to penetrate kevlar.

Truly a next generation submachine gun.

thinkgeek used to sell soft disk firing sentry guns a while back... cant find them on their site now though.

If budget would allow it, I'd do the same thing with a thermal imaging camera. it would be way more efficient.

I remember seeing a cool project last year at engineering open house. It was a small system of thermal and visual cameras that was designed to synthesize the "human head" and how it focused on objects in its environment. The idea was that it would use a combination of heat, motion, and sound to determine what was the most interesting thing to look at. It would then watch and follow the object of interest. Case in point, if two people were standing at the front of the room, when one of them starts giving a lecture and moving around to write notes on the blackboard, the device would watch and follow the movements of the lecturer.

Obviously, it comes easily to me that this system would make an ideal control system for the gun mount. The way it worked was really cool to see.

if you watch the video you can see how the thing tracks it's targets. It's a work in progress, but stinkin cool. Guess I gotta get me an airsoft rifle, I'm sure I can do the rest. (Engineering dept AWAY!)

LOL, I don't think Larry lives in a particularly dangerous area.
