I consider the A900 to not be portable in the slightest. It is a straight up home and office can. Also, they don't seem like the most durable headphones - definitely not for backpacks, assuming you could even fit it into one.

Also, they are very, very awkward if you try and wear them around your neck. You can't move your head hardly at all.

Sennheiser PXC 300 vs. AKG K28NCs

just as another reference about noise-cancelling. I came across this review of PXC300 today. Zdnet claims they have tested them and compared to AKG K28NCs: PXC 300 were clearly better.

Yeah, there's no way I'd walk around with my A-900s; just too big and slippery on the skull. They should not be considered an option for subway use IMHO.
