STAX - the Lambda Pro System photo walkthrough! - BIG PICS WARNING! - Page 4

By the way, an ED-1 need not be expensive-- one went on good ol' USA eBay for something like 40 bux recently, and there was only one or maybe two bids.

It would be very interesting indeed to listen to a homemade binaural recording both with and without an ED-1.

This is not good. I read a thread by Snake when he first joined in 2003 saying that he liked the Stax SRA-14S Pre-amp with his Lambda Pros, it takes some of the "Glare" off he heard with the SRM-1. Wah.

It looks so deadly too- Darth Stax! I want one!

Has anyone thought that Stax is the Volvo of headphones? There so well...rectangular!

Jahn, that is way cool.

i have to admit i almost got sucked into the vintage stuff just now - STAX is just so retro and rectangular, and I had a Marantz 2220B staring me in the face for 75 bucks to replace my souless crappy sony receiver (didn't get it, have no cash this month). I've got to chill and just let what I have sink in I think...there's always Christmas after all!

Attention Jahn. Christmas has been reserved for Grado Street Style headphones. Thank you.

Ah, but was it an SRM-1 Mk2 Professional, like yours?
Depending on when the 14S came along, it might just be your amp plus a preamp. So you're not missing much. Probably. Wah no more.

What you really need is an SRD-7 Mk2 and about a 300 w/ch MOSFET amp to drive those suckers.
