This is a deluxe Sony portable walkman cassette player/recorder.
It features settings for Dolby B and C (or off), Metal type IV, CrO2 type II and Normal type I. It can be used for live recoding to give great fidelity.
It has a smooth frequency response with low distortion, and low wow and flutter. In fact it is better than home cassette decks priced retail at les than $400. It originally cost over $300 but not sure how much over.
It is 6 3/4 by 3 3/4 by 1 3/4 inches. It is strong metal consruction in a leather case.
It is excellent in appearance and function. When I first got it, I coated the settings in clear epoxy to protect them from fading or wearing away, and the clear coat is still fine with numerals and letters brightly and clearly showing.
It takes 4 AA batteries - rechargable or alkaline. It has a voltage regulater built in to compensate for battery drain and keep working even when batteries are getting low.
Price is negotiable.
I also have some 100 and 90 minute metal and CRO2 tapes for sell - brand new and unopened TDK, Sony, and Maxwell.
