I will pay someone that can make me a cable adaptor for my Sen HE60's to plug in to my Stax Amps. Thanks Carl cff1998@aol.com

Oksi - the HE90 and HE60 connectors are different. I only see the HE90 adaptors at moon audio and never heard of a he60 offering from them.

Go Bears.

canman posted a pic of the adapter towards the bottom of the page. Eric did a great job but it is quite expensive. I still haven't picked up a stax amp but will probably splurge for one for my b-day/xmas

The HE60 jack group buy is still on. I'll probably do it either at the end of the month or in mid-October, depending on my workload.

Commercial entities that want to sell adapter cables can contact me if they want to buy a bunch. Not only am I doing these pretty much at cost, but there's no way I'll have time to fabricate full-on adapters. Open box, pack, and ship is as far as I'm going to be able to go on this one. As it is, making the cables is absolutely trivial, given a fine-tip soldering iron and a DMM.

Unless a lot more HE60 owners pop up after the group buy, this will probably be the last chance to get the jacks.

BIG THANKS

THANKS TO ERIC I WAS ABLE TO MAKE UP A JUMPER TO RUN THE HE60 WITH MY STAX AMP. VIERY NICE.

Eric - Are these HE60 adapters that plug into Stax chassis connectors; i.e., that fit between a Stax chassis connector and the HE60 plug? Or, are these actual HE60 chassis connectors that can be installed into the chassis of newly fabricated electrostatic headphone amps?

No and Yes.

The group buy will be for two different parts:

a) A cable-mount HE60 jack that will enable you to make an HE60 -> Stax adapter cable, using a Stax extension cord.

b) A panel-mount HE60 jack that can be incorporated in to or retrofitted on to an electrostatic headphone amplifier, so that you don't need to use an adapter.

At this point, I have no plans for an integral HE60 -> Stax adapter part; the engineering isn't something I want to deal with at this point.

Eric - Thanks for your prompt response. I'd really like to participate in the group buy for item b; i.e., for a panel-mount HE60 jack that can be incorporated into an electrostatic headphone amplifier. What do I need to do in order to participate in the group buy?

Well, the group buy isn't going to run until I have a desktop computer. The CAD software I used to design the connectors is Windows-only, and I want to make a small modification to the design before the buy. (The connectors I previously ordered needed the holes for the RS232 pins bored out to 2mm; actually the closest Imperial equivalent.) I expect to be getting the computer in mid-October.

If you guys manage to a critical mass of interest before then, you might manage to pressure me in to borrowing a computer from a friend to do the modification, but that in and of itself is not as easy as it sounds. I have more to do here right now than I expected.

Count me in for one cable and one panel-mount connector.
Eric - Please also count me in for one panel-mount connector. I'll ask Peter McAlister, of McAlister Audio, to delay completion of my AE-1 electrostat headphone amp until I can provide him with an HE60 panel-mount connector. I hope that my AE-1 amp will be equipped with panel-mount connectors for Koss ESP/950, HE90, HE60, and both types of Stax headphones. BTW, who is heading-up this group buy? Will we be notified when/how to send payment for this group buy?

It appears that I'll be heading up this group buy. Of course, if someone wants to take over, they're more than welcome.

Payment is Paypal to earshot at 2alpha dot com or cash (at your own risk) / check / money order to my address here at MIT (PM for details). The price won't be settled until I know how many are being ordered.
