No to your first question. Your other questions are silly.

Hello new to the forum and I want to get a rec on a new headphone if I can. Right now I have a Sennheiser px 100 for use at the office. I was thinking either a Sennheiser HD 485 or Sennheiser HD 555 (but anything below about 120 usd.) for home use for games, movies, and music more so on movies and music. Is the hd 485 a good leap from the px100.

no way the 4 series are not worth it period. The px100 is actually very nice for the price. You cant really beat it sennheiser wise for price under $250 unless find a killer used sale.

In the market for a set of Grado's, trying to see if it would be worth it to spend the extra dollars on the SR325i over the SR225i, for now it will be used exclusively for my ipod and laptop, with maybe an amp in the foreseeable future. I listen to basically every type of music. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

i have never tried the hd 485, but i do have the 555 and they are wonderful for movies and games. supossedly it isn't on par with full 5.1 headphones, but, even so, i am very satisfied with the surround effects. and of course, soundwise, they are really nice for the price, although a bit "grainy"

watch out though for the relative light bass, some people find this disconcerting, but for me it isn't a problem.

For full-sized headphones, I'd buy a Grado SR-60, replace the flats with a doughnut-style pad, tear the back off and glue the headset prongs directly to the doughnut pads. That's an incredible bang for the buck - very open and with a very controlled bass.

For in-ear monitors, I'd go with the Westone UM3X. It's simply the best universal out there, with a wondrously balanced presentation, natural sound that feels live and snug ergonomics that challenge the presumption that a custom fit is better.

I've always been a full-sized headphone fan. I might start branching outto IEMs since they're more portable and when you're travelling a lot, sometimes it is easier to have IEMs to easily store and take out. Thanks for the recommendations!

Hi all, I own a sennheiser HD555 and I like its sound a lot. However, there is a problem with this headphone, its cable is a way too long for me (although there is mod out there, but I dont think I have the skill and time for the mod).

I am looking for something that can sound better and something that its cable can be detached and plug it into different length of extension cable, just like what bose on-ear headphone offers. Any idea?

I am mostly into classic rock, newegg (kitaro) and some classical.

Hey guys,

I was wondering if the Shure SE530 is still a good value today for about $300ish? It was released back in '07? I'm not too familiar with IEMs, so any feedbacks would be awesome.

Thanks!

It is a simple fact and any caveman would agree, the Shure SE530s is a classic.
I have used it for years now.
Amazingly perfect along with an iPhone and uber special with a headroom Max.

Yes, I love my SE530's. They make every other IEM I've heard sound like crap. Granted I haven't heard any high end UE's/ Etys / Senn IEMs

A lot of people argue that the UE triple fi pros are very similar. And those can be had for a little less than the SE530's. Some reviews state that the UE10TFP's are better when still, and SE530's tend to fit/seal better if you are a little more mobile active.

I am looking for new Circumaural full sized headphones. My budget is $350. I listen to mostly various forms of Rock/classical.

I checked out one of the sticky thread with the list of headphones in price ranges, but that thread seemed pretty old.
