Just Got my iPod nano!!! - Page 10

I'll bet more than a few of us will be buying additional Nanos as Xmas gifts this year. Is that also idiotic? Why be concerned about how others choose to spend their money?

Definitely not, specially if you are sending me one of them

None taken. I kind of felt guilty for spending that much. But I'm in the gym 6-7 days a week, 4GB wasn't enough, and so I felt justified to have everything I wanted on two tiny flash mp3 players, flash being the key work there. I almost never get new music (nothing is worth buying with the current scene), and I almost never connect my iPods to my computer to sync because I find it a hassle even with iTunes. So it's convenience more than anything.

The 3G iPod has such short battery life it's not worth using. The iPod color I use for long trips and taking pics off my digital cameras when traveling without access to a computer.

Long involved story....

I sold my Zen Micro to my roommate after a month because I was dropping out of grad school and didn't really need to use an mp3 player that much, less than 30 minutes a day. So I got an iPod shuffle thinking it would suffice. That lasted a month too, it is/was a useless device for me. I went back to the iPod mini (got a 2nd gen 6GB, I had a 1st gen 4GB mini before selling it for the Zen Micro) because I was flying all over the country on med school interviews, 7 interviews in an 8 week period. A few months later, I got a Creative Zen Nano Plus 1GB flash for the gym. It was ok, but even with a screen it wasn't that useful and 1GB was too little and I got tired of hearing the same songs over and over. Then I got into med school, but decided to defer for a year while I'm still young (just turned 22 recently), so I got a real job as a biochemist that pays well enough. The iPod nano came out, so I returned the Nano Plus (Walmart has a crazy 90-day return policy, which I didn't know about until I wanted to return the Zen Nano Plus) and got the two nanos instead.

Finally, last week my roommate told me his Zen Micro no longer works, probably a broken hard drive, but he's too stupid and lazy to send it in for warranty service, he's a useless blob like that. My brother had a 4GB mini 1st gen, and his hard drive broke after 15 months, so the hard drive problem isn't just on Creative's player.

if it gets so many scratches that easily and they are so visible
maybe I should wait till the cases come out.
I want to know how big the scratch problem actually is.
Would the white nano have less visible scratches?
Indeed the white nano tends to show less scratches (doesn't mean it's not there) as it has a clear plastic on the top layer. light shines right through whereas the black has a full black plastic look and light reflects off it therefore showing alot of the scratches.
