I just got an A-35r off of ebay, since it seemed to be somewhat recommended on here, and was a good deal. So far, I think it sounds really good for the money, but there seems to be one small problem, and I'm wondering if it's just my unit, or a characteristic of the amp.
When I use it in direct mode, there is virtually no hiss or hum, either with speakers or headphones, and it seems to sound quite good overall. However, in regular mode, there is a small but noticeable degree of hum coming out of the right channel w/speakers or headphones, in addition to increased hiss. It's not really noticeable when music is playing, but if the source is paused, you can hear it. There also seems to be a degradation of sound quality when not in direct mode, which I guess is not that surprising. Has anyone noticed any hum with their amp? Also, I see that "loudness" is mentioned as a feature, but there is not button for it. Is it correct to assume that "loudness" in automatically engaged when not in direct mode?
Thanks.
