im looking at buying some speakers for my computer.
im pretty sure i want some 2.1s, as it seems surround sound is only nessacary for dvds and games and only work if you sit in the middle anyway.
i dont want to spend much.
i just need some decent sound for a small room, nothing huge, doesnt need to satisfy a party or disco or anything.

im in new zealand so i guess that limits my options.
the creative inspire 2.1 2500 sounds like what i want, but i have heard they are pretty crap.
im mainly looking from this list: http://www.pricespy.co.nz/cat_15.html#g39
i have heard klipsch is good, but they dont seem to be available here in NZ.

so what can people reccomend from that list, or any other way of getting decent cheap speakers.

Altec Lansing MX5021 Concert Range 3 piece Speakers 90W RMS

I don't have them but these are quite famed among computer audio
enthusiasts here in Taiwan.

i can verify that for the price, the mx5021 is pretty damned good sounding.

fwiw though, i listen to it with the bass dial turned all the way DOWN.

STAY AWAY from the low end Creative speakers. They truely suck, I have a set of 5100 5.1 speakers here collecting dust. Save up for the Swans M200 if you can find them

Altec Lansing ATP3 2 Satellites + 1 Subwoofer 60W RMS
Altec Lansing XA3021 Speakers 3 Piece Speaker

Right out of my head I thought these two may stand out
in the "good value" category. Will post again if there is
more.
