Re-cabling Update(done).

Just finished my first re-cabling job! I made the cable out of Canare F-12, #22 stranded silver teflon wire and techflex. Used 4 wires. Braided each channel's wires, and then braided both the channels too. Covered with black techflex(this is a cool thing). Not a 'pro' finish but I think I did a better job than I expected!
Difference in sound ? Yes! The first thing I noticed right off the bat was improved channel seperation. Probably the crosstalk in the cable probably reduced and each channel now had more of its own distinct identity unlike before.
I think the mids and highs are cleaner and less harsh. I can keep listening to these cans for a long time.

All this on an already modded MDR-V300. The mods that made the biggest improvement were replacing the ear pads and removing the felt shield, opening up the enclosure(yes my mdr-v300 has holes in the back like the sr-60) and adding sound absorbing/vibration damping material inside the enclosure.

Now to check if adapter quality is a myth or not. I have four different (brands) 1/4" to 1/8" adapters that I am going to try on this headphone and see if one sounds different than the other.
Stay tuned!

Here's one. Sorry cant create the extreme detail ones that other members have posted.

You can see the holes in the back of the left can. I must say that after doing the above mentioned mods the bass now is quite less compared to the stock mdr-v300, so you would be disappointed if thats not what you are expecting. but then the bass is the one big problem of mdr-v300.

that is sweeeet. it is nice to see people tweaking "odd" cans.
