rather than the foam your using now to keep the batteries in place why dont you try velcro straps?

I never thought of that. What would I attach them to?

id use foam coz it would be a pita for me to take the velcro off each battery and put them on new ones everytime i swap them out.

ok sure most people use the same batteries and just recharge them but i use my amp when travelling and dont have the time/effort to recharge my batteries all the time, easier to just grab a handful of cheap alkaline 9v's before i go and swap them as required.

you could hotglue two straps of velcro to your amp (the bottom of the indide, you may have to madify the foam lining it currently) One (or two) strips of velcrow would be on either side of the batetries so when they are stuck togetehr they would go acrost both batteries

That's cool. The foam is a little weird, but reminded me of a standard issue battery compartment, like from a portable radio or something. Maybe on the next Mint I'll work with velcro. On the other hand, I could have just bought some nice clips to keep them in place. Mouser has them, but I didn't want to drill through the case to rivet or screw them in. Still, it would be a far more elegant solution than my foam explosion! Hey, live and learn.

Don't sweat the foam, I use it in all my MINTs. Why? Cause it's cheap, simple and very effective. I hate velcro with a passion (support group anyone?) and clips can break, foam can always be replaced.

And nice job bhjazz, very clean layout both inside and outside. If you think your 600s sound better with the MINT wait till you get that PIMETA going, and yes I know I'm the devil !
