@Necropimp: Thanks!

I've not had any problem with the layout itself, although it didn't work straight away (Foobar wouldn't close cleanly). So I took the time to install each component and it now works and look great

Foobar2000.cfg is the file that gets the panels etc. where they should be (along with all your preferences - which you may want to edit).

I am not sure if you need to do that, but to get the colour etc. you may need to import the necropimp.fcs file under column_ui in preference.

but why does the nice layout that necropimp made not come up?

binkgle: If you've got all the component, then the cfg file really should set the layout properly. I've tried: using the old cfg file, I'd get my old layout, and after overwriting with Necropimp's I get his layout.

I have a quick question: Is it possible to pick a different encoding for viewing the playlist texts? Foobar seems to support some chinese/japanese character set (via unicode perhaps? I am not sure), but some text still comes out as garbled mess e.g. ŠïŒ¶—·’ö

got it working, just had to replace the foobar folder with necro's again, then replace the desktop/start menu shortcuts. dunno why, but using the shortcuts that came with the foobar i had installed made it revert to the plain layout.

necropimp, I LOVE THIS DESIGN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone I'v been longtime lurker but just recently joined.

I love Foobar for its flexibilty in configuration though there is a learning curve. Sound wise I think it sounds great through Kernel streaming. I have mine also configured with ASIO4ALL.

Winamp with ASIO sounds same as Foobar with ASIO as far as I can tell. But I think kernel streaming has alittle more detail

For me I use Foobar mostly with ASIO because I bypass my soundcard with USB directly to pioneer receiver and cannot send kernel to receiver other then through spdf

Here is my config (I am a newbie hopefully didnt mess up posting config - fingers crossed)
