Pre-amp/Switchbox with many (4-5?) outputs

Hi all

I have a bunch of amps, and only 1 or 2 main sources, and my current solution for getting the signal from my Cary to my various amps just isn't working.

My Sources:
Cary 306/200 (primary, used daily)
Pioneer 562 (used for DVDs daily, SACD/DVD-A rarely)
Sony 32" Wega (TV use through speaker rig, occasionally)

My Amps:
Marantz PM-17 Integrated / Sim Audio W-3 poweramp
Melos Maestro (RS-1 rig)
Singlepower Supra (HD650 rig)
Electrostat amp

What I what like to do is run the signal from the Cary to the pre/switchbox, and then off to all the other amps.
Cary --> switchbox -->outputs
1) Marantz
2) Melos
3) Supra
4) Electrostat
5) (room for future growth)

Right now I do the following:
Cary
--> vampire splitter --> Supra
--> vampire splitter --> Marantz --> Melos (via tape1-out) & my electro stat could potentially run out of tape2-out

A quintete is a possibility, as is a Custom made switchbox by a place like Singlepower.

Any thoughts? Thank you!

I've been using the Quintete. It allows for 3 in/2 out or 2 in/3 out. I haven't noticed any degradation in the sq. It seems to be built well. The preivious owner modded it to work better with tube amps. He explained the mod but meant nothing to me. I believe the info on the mod came from Fiddler.

It hasn't been getting too much use lately due to changes in my rig, but I have a Quintete switcher as well, and it is a very well-built item. Considering the number of amps you'll probably be better off getting one custom built that has more ouputs, though.

You should look at the Manley SkipJack. This sounds like exactly what you need. They produce professional equipment as well as audiophile equipment. 6-Moons also did a excellent review of this unit, used in the capacity of an A/B/X switcher for testing interconnects.

Cheers,

So what do you folks use when you have 1 source but many amps that you want to use with it? I don't mind being a copy-cat...

I also use the Quintete, but since I've dwindled my headamp collection down to just the Wheatfield, it's not doing much these days It's a very nice switchbox, solidly built and more importantly, does not impart anything to the signal. Alas, it can only switch 3 inputs/outputs with 2 inputs/outputs (3+2 config), but I bet Fidaudio would custom build a box with a 4+1 configuration.
