Quick Newbish A47 Question

Okay, I've built my newly revamped A47, and I'm left wondering what the purpose of the buffer and TLE device are. Do they help in amplification, or just clean power? Or something else? Can I take them out of the design and just leave the capacitors? And while I'm at it, how about the diode, as well?

The diode is there so you don't fry the opamp by connecting the battery backwards.
The TLE replaces the resistor divider from the original CMoy amp.... the buffer is there to give the TLE some more output current capacity
(excuse the overly simplified explanations )

Thanks very much - so is it okay to take those two devices out of the circuit?

You could get rid of the buffer, but personally I would leave it in as the whole point of the A47 design is to provide more current cf a standard CMoy. You can't leave out the TLE2426 unless you use a dual supply or a resistor divider
