Hm we need to all pitch in for a present for him... maybe we can raise enough to buy a Headroom Blockhead for Tyll, he'll sure like that

Heh, I think he already has one

Actually, he told me his personal listening setup is a Headroom Max+HD600+Clou Red Cables (IIRC), but he plans to talk Sennheiser into giving him an Orpheus. Maybe if we all contributed $20...

yeah, and I plan to talk Boeing into giving me a 747.
Are you gonna fly it over from Seattle, Eric?

You can keep a pair of these airline headphones if you help me.

Heh, where would *I* get an Orpheus? And if I had it why would I give it away? (unless I had two )
I was thinking more along the lines of everyone sends Tyll $20, marked "Orpheus Fund"...

Hmm, even if all the registered members donated $20, it'd still be a couple thousand short. Make it $25 each, and then you'd collect enough money for an Orpheus.

Something *very* disturbing just happened. I'd start another thread but it happened when I visited this one, so I figured I should post a reply here.

*I ENCOUNTERED A POP-UP AD!!!* ON HEAD-FI!!!

Yes, that's right, when I clicked on the "Happy Birthday Tyll!" link, and the page finished loading, a window popped up with some financial loan thing or other!

Now, it's only happened once, so it could be some malicious java from another site (It happened while using Internet Exploiter), so it might not be too bad. But if it was intentional (which I hope, think, and hope again it wasn't), WHAT GIVES?

Again, I don't think it was Head-Fi's fault. I just wanted to let you folks know...

ROFL! Tyll must have made his birthday wish for your little collection plan to come true! It CAN'T be coincidence that you apparently saw a "financial loan" ad...

Oh yes, and I have not seen any pop-ups, either...

Neither have I. It must have been some residual Java from another site, using one of IE's swiss-cheese-security holes.

Whoops, late to the party again, but (belated) happy birthday Tyll! I'm sure I can speak for everyone when I say you've done a lot for the headphone freak community. Keep on choogling.

Though you mentioned you didn't think it was us, I will emphasize that...

It wasn't Head-Fi! There are no pop-up ads being served by (or in any way affiliated with) Head-Fi!

I hope I've made myself clear, but if I didn't, let me know, and I'll repeat myself.

Jude? What did you say? I think you need to repeat yourself

eric, were you on any other sites at the same time? maybe another site had a popup that showed up along with head-fi...
