Power Cord usages ::

I was wondering, would installing new power cords [$50-300] into such devices be over-kill? or is that what I SHOULD be doing?

- sound modules
-audio interface
-midi interface
-computer?

and how about.......

-dj mixers [?]
-turntables [?]
-computer monitors

Overkill.

Maybe if you have money to throw away, you could put some on your audio equipment.

But my particular stance on power cords is...they are snake oil.
But in my case, it's justifying not using any.

Why don't you try make you own? won't cost more then $30 for a cable with the same quailty / parts as a $300 Kimber. I did it, so can anyone. That way, if you can't hear any difference, you haven't lost out much, I bet you can sell it for more on ebay too.

Don't give premium power cords too much priority. Spend the cash on upgrading components. You should also have a certain level of quality components before you start hearing any difference.

A $200 cord on a $300 receiver, is well............

I didn't know how to make a powercord either but I found out that it's no more difficult the wiring a plug, it's THAT simple. The End.
