im looking for and amp that will increase the volume from my laptop. When watching movies or music in the car I barely cant hear a thing (integrated soundcard btw). I just have two simple questions for you;
1. will these help me?
2. is the price alright?

For what you're doing, yes it will work. If you don't care about sound quality really, you might as well just buy a CHEAP cmoy on eBay (or any cheap amplifier in general).

ofcourse i do, but since i dont really have a lot of money it has to be second. Most important is that i can actually hear something
What about the soundquality of these?

depends, since they're only amplifying the source signal, the results may be better, worse, or the same.

this might be a hard question (hopefully my last) to answer but here it goes. will it make it just a litle bit higher or much higher? i mean will i have to max it?

depends on the gain of the amp and the headphones you'll be using. (the amp builder will work it out with you) My guess i that it will allow it to go loud. I don't think I've ever had an amp, even a low-end one, that didn't go louder than my ears could handle.

Why would he not care about sound quality? CMoys don't sound good

What type of headphones do you have? Are you trying to compensate for the road noise? Have you considered more isolation (i.e. IEMs?)?

The reason I bring this up, if you compensate the road noise with an amp, that could lead to hearing damage...

If all he needs is increased volume, and if his headphones aren't up to par.. then why bother with something like a Gilmore Lite :-p.

Maybe you could imcrease the volume for movies using a filter like AC3Filter. Movies seem often quite low in volume (I guess because of the wider dynamic range of 24 Bit). This would certainly be the cheapest solution (for free...).

theyre just like any other cmoy amp on ebay,

but they use cooler tins.

cant get any cooler then a hello kitty cmoy
