Any opinions on the Bose Sounddock. Feel free to bash or praise the product.

My opinion, not worth $300 dollars, sounds ok...

Heard it at Circuit City. My opinion, sounds worse than my computer cheapo speaker set up.(Unknown $40 mitsubishi speaker w/ YamahaRX-V490 Reciever $150, and ac97(lol) thru foobar).

Heard one in the Bose store here in Nashville. I was pretty impressed with the sound. It gets plenty loud. I would like to hear one in my office as opposed to the enviroment at the Bose store. Wish it ran off of batteries so it could be portable.

Dunno... I tend to believe you could get something cheaper that sounds the same. The Bose salesman kind of did the ole hard sale on archosman. He was like "I also have a refurbished one in the back for $245." Next time this happens I'm going to pull my wallet out, look inside, tell them "Where's the nearest ATM?", and then walk out. Don't know if they're all that pushy... but he was.

Buy Bose, consume...

Well it would depend on how you are going to use it and where.

It really does sound ok for what it is. However the altec lansing IM7 boom box sounds much better (though still not hi-fi), is $50 cheaper and can run off batteries. It is to my eyes butt-ugly though.

I wanted something for the bedroom and what I ended up doing was getting the bose wave CD radio. Better sound than the sounddock, plays back radio and cds (including MP3) and looks much better (the wife factor). I then have my ipod in it's dock connected to the line in of the bose. The big drawback is the cost $500 for the bose and another $30 for the ipod dock. Yes it's overpriced, but made my SO happier with how it looked.

I've got a friend who blew his summer savings on a Bose Radio and Quiet Comfort 2's. I have yet to hear them...

Bose is not bad. It sounds better then the cheapo stuff on the market. But their stuff is overpriced as you can find cheaper and better equipment from other companies.

there are no too much alternatives for docks, but i think dock, and bluetoth or wireless systems entegreted with i-pod, i-phone is very useful. bose is the currently best alternative as docks, b&o looks betterbut it is too expensive.
