Some good stuff here! I just made a pre-order for the Mastodon CD myself. Can't wait! I am also liking the Nagamine tunes. Very good find indeed. I'll have to check out the Burzum album next! :)

As someone who just bought Adam's Apple on 45rpm double vinyl, I can only approve with that choice. As for what goes for Soul Station, it is indeed one of the most essential hard bop records to have in any jazz collection no matter how big or small. Truly stellar playing. Check out how fluidly Art Blakey transitions his drumming from one solo to the next to support each new soloist. The XRCD24 mastered by Alan Yoshida that I have is without question one of the best-sounding CDs I own. Hearing it was a true revelation to the ears.
