Recent acquisitions, I'm "almost" stuck in the sixties.  Covers inevitably look worse than the surfaces sound.

Last night I added:

Dave Brubeck - Time Out

Daft Punk - Random Access Memories

Need to find some more obvious ones, because I've got some real hits this weekend after finding this site!

Got around to the local record store and picked up the following on vinyl:

"Walking on a Pretty Daze" - Kurt Vile

"Monomania" - Deerhunter

"No Witch" - The Cave Singers

Thanks for the pics.  "Some" people seem to have forgotten about pics.

I can dig on Satie and Soft Machine.  The others, I don't know.

Enjoy as I know you will.

Kenny Dorham - Quiet Kenny [JVC-XRCD]

So I gave in and bought the XRCD version while completely being aware of the upcoming (TBA) hybrid-SACD release. I'm really interested in hearing the quality of an XRCD as this is my first. Can not wait! :-)

On the other note, I just found out that Yoko Kanno & The Seatbelts has the first Cowboy Bebop soundtrack available on iTunes.  I did find the CD available for double the iTunes' asking price, so the iTunes version does seem extremely tempting pricewise.

It is pretty good yeah. I can't be the only one that thinks Ryo is better than Egoist...

They aren't all that bad I don't think

If you're curious and looking for something new to check out, the first three are:

Sheer Hellish Miasma, by Kevin Drumm: Harsh, droney noise.

Quarantine, by Laurel Halo: Sort of psychedelic pop electronic stuff, but without the pop. Maybe some Laurie Anderson influence.

Mass Mensch Material, by Rome: Depressive, European martial/folk music with a bit of industrial influence.

Thanks, I think I'll pass on the depressive, harsh droney stuff.

First four are vinyl and the last a digital purchase from iTunes Store.

Atoms for Peace - Amok [limited edition 45rpm 2 LP with CD]

Deep Purple - Made in Japan [Friday Music]

Ornette Coleman - The Shape of Jazz to Come [Original Recordings Group, 45rpm 2 LP]

Nightwish - Dark Passion Play [limited edition dark blue vinyl #58 out of 150]

Clean Tears - Reverberations

Amok, Made in Japan, and Dark Passion Play all sound fantastic if someone is wondering. Haven't listened to The Shape of Jazz to Come yet.

I think it's wonderful that Clear Tears and BoltThower are back to back in this thread.
