I thought that he hadn't decided how much shipping would be, as he didn't know the final weight?

Guess he's throwing in shipping for me as he's sending that mainland to my China office. (Who knows, maybe my serial number is 001!!!)

Hopefully yes. Mind you, I tend to have a higher opinion of Chinese technical R&D than most.

With frequent discussion, ideas exchange, and clear expectations, I find that it is often easier to deal with my Chinese suppliers than some of my N.American ones. There's a greater awareness and need to deliver on expectations I think. In fact, it's one of the rewarding parts of working in product development, bringing relationships and concepts from the first handshake to that first container arriving in my warehouse. I feel like a proud mother every time!! (Or as close to that maternal feeling as possible, as I don't have any kids...)

Anyone tried the LD Micro yet? It's already gone from $33 to $53. Still looks like a deal but no info - just the little bit on the Little Tubes site.

LD3 Update

Well, there's been a shipping delay. Now the shipping date is projected to be Sept 10. Dr Yang had received some cases, but rejected them as he wasn't impressed with the woodwork. He's also working on a variable gain set circuit for the LD3. This circuit would allow the amp to automatically detect the headphone's impedence and adjust accordingly. Right now, he's tested it to work from 27 to 300 ohms impedence.

So looks like I won't be able to post any impressions until later...end of September or October at this rate!

Wow, I only paid 980RMB(preorder price) for the auto gain version, and as I was probably one of the first people to order, my front tubes are going to be US made 1S5s instead of the Chinese tube...

Unit price seems rather high. Even the set normal price is only:


智能阻抗适配版：1180元 (前10名预定者优惠价980元)
Auto gain version: 1180 RMB (first ten orders = 980RMB each special price)

固定阻抗版：980元 （前10名预定者优惠价880元)
Set gain: 980RMB (first 10 orders = 880RMB special price).

First 10 orders of LD3 will get 1S5 front tubes as a bonus.
